DAVIE, Fla. Cheap Air Max 270 NZ . -- Ryan Tannehill plans to take the first snap on offence Sunday for the Dolphins against the Oakland Raiders, at least temporarily putting an end to questions about Miamis quarterback situation. Head coach Joe Philbin hasnt said Tannehill would be the starter but the third-year quarterback insisted that where he stands has been made clear to him. He has taken all of the snaps with the first team. "Ive been preparing to play Oakland in London and to go out there and win," said Tannehill, who has completed just 56.5 per cent of his passes and ranks 29th in the NFL in passer rating at 74.1. "Im taking the first snap of the game and playing the game." Philbins approach has created a distraction in the locker room, and Tannehill said that was an issue and was not a good feeling for him. But Tannehill said he understood Philbins handling of the situation, and remains confident in his abilities and the potential of Miamis offence. "Obviously, it doesnt feel good. It creates a bunch of stir and a bunch of distraction in the locker room, mostly from the outside coming in," Tannehill said. "Just guys having to deal with the distraction of it, its not a good feeling but hes been clear with me and I know where I stand. I dont know how it first came to me. I think I received some texts from basically everyone Ive ever known offering me support, which is a good thing I guess, and then coach came to me." Backup quarterback Matt Moore confirmed that nothing has changed with his role and that he has not taken a snap with the first team since training camp. "Ive taken zero reps. Ryans prepared the same way he always does and Ive prepared the same way I always do," said Moore, who is the highest paid backup quarterback in the league and won six games as a starter for Miami in 2011. "We showed up on Tuesday and everything was the same. Obviously, I did get a couple of text messages from friends who read things and it caught me off guard but nothing was said in here." The quarterbacks lockers are near each other and they are together in the position meetings and on the practice field. Moore didnt notice any difference in Tannehills demeanour this week. With the Dolphins trying to avoid going into the bye week at 1-3, Tannehill understands the importance of this game with Oakland and he feels like he has the full support of his teammates. He spoke confidently about the running game and the offensive line, while saying he wished Philbin had handled it differently. "Does it feel good to deal with all the distractions that have been created because of the situation? No," Tannehill said. "Thats life. You face distractions. You face adversity in life and you have to be able to handle it. "You have to be able to fight through it and become a better man, become a better player because of it. Were going about our normal week. Its all this stuff on the outside that seems like the worlds collapsing. . I think the guys are confident, not only in their abilities but in mine." Jim Leyland, in his eighth playoffs, has never had a starting rotation he trusts as much as the grouping of Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Anibal Sanchez and Doug Fister. Nike Air Max 270 NZ . After the Salukis 73-65 loss at Murray State on Tuesday night, Hinson called his players "uncoachable," "a bunch of mamas boys" and compared the disciplining of his young team to housebreaking a puppy. http://www.cheapairmax270nz.com/ . -- Oakland Athletics starting pitchers Jarrod Parker and A.Northern Ireland marked the opening of the newly-revamped Windsor Park with a comfortable 4-0 win over San Marino on Saturday evening. Steven Davis dispatched his penalty after Josh Magennis had been bundled to the ground by two defenders and substitute Kyle Lafferty grabbed a brace, before his assist helped Jamie Ward smash in a third.Mirko Palazzi was shown two yellow cards either side of the break for needless challenges to make life harder for the minnows as Northern Ireland went third on four points in Group C. FIFA president Gianni Infantino officially opened the new national stadium and it was rocking well before the kick-off, as the home crowd belted out Neil Diamonds 1969 hit Sweet Caroline to welcome the sides onto the field. The theme of the game became abundantly clear from the first whistle, as Northern Ireland took the game to the lowly visitors - ranked 201 in the FIFA rankings. Shane Ferguson and Jamie Ward were in their element on either wing, as time and time again, they delivered telling balls into the box, but their endeavour went unrewarded with striker Josh Magennis unable to get on the end of some excellent crosses. Steve Davis (L) of Northern Ireland shoots at Aldo Simoncini ® of San Marino during the FIFA 2018 World Cup Southampton midfielder Davis was industrious, linking the play together and the breakthrough finally came when Magennis was blatantly fouled, leaving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. Up stepped Davis and although Aldo Simoncini guessed the right way, he was unable to prevent it from going into the bottom corner. While the task at hand seemed difficult to say the least in the first half, it would become pretty much impossible for San Marino in the second, when, after Michael McGovern had gathered in a high ball and looked to release Stuart Dallas, he was needlessly impended by Palazzi. The San Marino No 7, who had already been booked for a reckless tackle on Niall McGinn in the first half, was soon sent packing.  Michael O’Neill says there is still plenty for Northern Ireland can improve upon despite beating San Marino 4-0 in Group C. Wholesale Air Max 270 NZ. With one eye possibly on the huge game against world champions Germany on Tuesday in mind, ONeill - who had left talisman Lafferty on the bench - turned to the Norwich striker to put the game out of sight.Minutes after his introduction, he duly grabbed a goal. Exchanging passes with Davis, he fed Ferguson out on the left and his wicked cross found Laffertys clever run into the box and he tucked the ball home. Kyle Lafferty was disappointed to be dropped from the team against San Marino but the striker hopes his two goals will boost his chances for a recall. Ward smashed in the third after Lafferty had flicked on the cross from Shane Ferguson and excellent footwork from man-of-the-match Davis ended with his flicked pass being smashed home for Lafferty to grab his second with virtually the last kick of the game. You can watch Englands tour of Bangladesh, plus Premier League football and the Japan Grand Prix on Sky Sports. Not really. But, two of the winning horses in last Novembers Breeders Cup will be making their 2015 debuts over the weekend approximately 1500 miles apart. First up on Saturday will be Take Charge Brandi, winner of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. The 3-year-old filly, trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas, will be at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas for the $100,000 Martha Washington Stakes versus six rivals going a mile. Lukas has the champion filly pointed toward the $1 million Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs on Friday, May 1. The sister race to the Kentucky Derby is 1 1/8 miles and was won last year by eventual Eclipse Award winner Untapable. Take Charge Brandi, owned by Willis Horton, hasnt been away from the races very long. She had two starts following the Breeders Cup, both victories two time zones apart. Lukas had her win the Delta Downs Princess in Louisiana just three weeks after taking the Juvenile Fillies as a 61-1 longshot. Then three weeks later she caaptured the Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos in Los Angeles. Air Jordan 5 Retro Australia. We tried to get too cute with her during the summer and finally I woke up and said Ill just leave her alone. We made that decision and its worked, Lukas noted after the Starlet. Sunday marks the return of Breeders Cup Juvenile winner Texas Red to the track. Trained by Keith Desormeaux, the colt has the trainers Hall of Fame brother Kent in the saddle for the San Vicente at Santa Anita. The seven- furlong stakes is a prep for the $1 million Santa Anita Derby on April 4. Texas Red, who is partly owned by his trainer, won the Juvenile as a 13-1 longshot while posting a 6 1/2-length victory over 9-5 race favorite Carpe Diem. However, unlike Take Charge Brandi, Texas Red failed to secure the Eclipse Award as 2014 champion 2-year-old male. That honor went to American Pharoah who had to be withdrawn from the Breeders Cup with an injury. The weekend brings exciting horse racing to the fore with tracks scheduling their programs so as not to interfere with viewing the Super Bowl. LIVERPOOL, N. Cheap Air Max 97 Uk Online .S. -- Manitobas Braden Calvert is one victory away from winning the Canadian junior mens curling championship. Calverts team from Winnipeg — third Kyle Kurz, second Lucas Van Den Bosch, lead Brendan Wilson and coach Tom Clasper — clinched first place in the round-robin and a bye to Sundays gold-medal game with a 5-4 win over Albertas Carter Lautner on Wednesday. With the victory, Manitoba improved to 8-0 and gained the necessary tiebreaker advantages to clinch first place and the bye to the final. "Thats a pretty neat feeling," said Calvert, whose team defeated reigning Canadian junior mens champ Matt Dunstone in the Manitoba final. "The boys have played so well in front of me; they just made my job so easy all week." Now, the issue becomes how to deal with nearly four full days of thinking about the final, with two round-robin games to play and a day off on Saturday. "I think our team is great at staying loose and trying to have fun all the time," said Calvert with a smile. "I think well be OK that way. We brought a PS3 and NHL14, so well be pretty busy at that. Well hopefully be able to take our minds off it a little bit." In other mens championship pool games, New Brunswicks Rene Comeau (6-2) turned back Saskatchewans Tyler Hartung (5-3); B.C.s Cameron de Jong (4-4) shaded Ontarios Ryan McCrady (5-3) 4-3; and Nova Scotias Robert Mayhew (5-3) doubled Northern Ontarios Tanner Horgan (5-3) 10-5. In womens championship pool play, Albertas Kelsey Rocque suffered her first loss after seven straight wins, bowing 6-3 to Nova Scotias Mary Fay (6-2); B.C.s Kalia Van Osch (6-2) doubled Ontarios Molly Greenwood (5-3) 4-2; and Manitobas Meaghan Brezden (5-3) beat Saskatchewans Kristen Streifel (4-4) 7-6. Air Max 97 Uk Cheap Online . -- Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh says he isnt going to change what he does on the field. Cheap Air Max 97 Uk Sale . And on Sunday against the Houston Astros they were pleased to see his work finally pay off with his first win since May 24. http://www.cheapairmax97uksale.com/ . Wilson hit Schenn from behind during Tuesday nights game in Philadelphia, earning a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct. He has a phone hearing with the department of player safety, which limits any potential suspension to five or fewer games. With the game just past the half hour mark, Stoke winger Jonathan Walters sprinted towards the touchline, failed to keep the ball in play, and had to put his hands out to stop himself from going into the crowd. As he did so he picked up a cup from the fan in the front row and pretended to drink it. Unfortunately for the smiling Englishman the cup was empty. So, it seemed, was the wingers energy. Walters had been asked to play right wing at White Hart Lane in a 4-4-1-1 formation for Stoke, up against a Tottenham team that began in a 4-4-2 shape. His manager, Mark Hughes, had hoped that Walters could get forward to help out his solo front man, Peter Crouch, but instead he was being forced to play right back. One of the fittest players in the league looked exhausted. The reason? The supreme footballing intelligence of Tottenhams Christian Eriksen. Eriksen, asked to play left wing only when the opponents have possession of the ball, terrorized his opponent in possession, with outstanding movement and creativity. The Dane spent much of the match moving inside, the moment the ball drifted to the right side, and forced Stokes back four to get narrower and narrower, forcing Walters deeper. Stoke were bemused by Tottenhams shape and the free role given to Eriksen that hadnt been seen before in a Premier League match. System Much has been made of new head coach Tim Sherwoods tactical changes from previous manager Andre Villas-Boas, with a lot of the focus, rightly so, falling on Sherwoods decision to play two strikers up top together. Villas-Boas took charge of 16 Premier League games this season for Spurs and not once started with two forwards together. Sherwood has picked two up top from the start of every match he has managed so far. When he was questioned about that style after the FA Cup loss to Arsenal, he said: "A lots made of systems - 4-4-2, 4-3-3, whatever you want to call it - but its about passing the ball to your own team, keeping hold of it. Because whenever you lose the ball in transition, youre always going to be out of shape – otherwise youre going to be a rigid, boring team. So its about funnelling back in, shuffling across." Sherwood has now had seven post-match meetings with the media and the common theme in all of them has been his discussions about getting the ball to key players in key areas. At the top of this list is clearly 21-year-old Eriksen. When the former Ajax playmaker was brought to White Hart Lane at the end of August he was only Tottenhams 4th most expensive signing of the window; behind Erik Lamela, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho. The day he signed, Tottenham also revealed the capture of Argentine Lamela, for almost three times the amount of Eriksen. If Tottenham wanted to keep the Dane under the radar, captured at a discount because his contract was close to expiring, they were certainly doing a good job at it. Eriksen made his debut in Tottenhams fourth game of the season, at home to Norwich, and the team had yet to score a goal from open play. The playmaker took 28 minutes to do what Tottenham couldnt do in 270, putting a perfectly weighted pass in to Gylfi Sigurdsson who opened the scoring. In the second half, Eriksen found himself in his office - the central space outside the penalty box - when he switched the play brilliantly to Paulinho on the right side. It was the kind of pass that most players wouldnt have even seen but seconds later Tottenham extended their lead when Sigurdsson tapped home the Brazilians cross at the back post. When he was taken off after 71 minutes, Eriksen got a standing ovation from his new fans. "It was a great debut for Christian, he is a pure number 10, a creative player and his individual quality made all the difference," said Villas-Boas after the match.Eriksen would start the next three games but with the side struggling to score goals he found himself on the bench following the October international break. The Dane played just 34 minutes in matches against Aston Villa, Hull and Everton, with Lewis Holtby starting all three games as AVBs pure number ten. Eriksen returned for the home loss against Newcastle and it would be his final appearance for Villas-Boas before he got injured playing for Denmark. When he was fit to return, Tottenham had a date at Southampton and Sherwood was now the boss. Eriksen was back but not as pure number ten, instead, asked to play in a central midfield role in a 442. It was Sherwoods attempt to get the playmaker in the side alongside Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor, who started hhis first league game of the season and scored twice in a 3-2 win. Cheap Air Max 97 Sale. It was a brave decision from Sherwood, who at the time was still auditioning for the job. The next day Sherwood was given an 18-month contract in charge of Spurs, four days later they drew 1-1 against West Brom, with Eriksen scoring a free kick, again playing central midfield. The games were coming thick and fast and with little time to work on anything as the head coach reflected after the draw against the Baggies: ""We could have done with a bit more guile around the penalty area, but overall I think well improve, its been difficult because we havent been able to have too much instruction to the boys in training, because of the amount of games, its been hectic, its a new voice, we are asking them to play a slightly different manner and hopefully theyll get better and better at it." Finding the forwards Sherwood needed to find a way for his team to get that guile while still maintaining the shape he was working with them on. Two days after the win against West Brom, he made the slight change over Eriksens positioning for the Stoke game. Tottenhams final game of 2013, with Eriksen in his new role, would turn out to be their best performance of the season as they seemed to solve the biggest problem Tottenham have had this season; getting service to Soldado, a man signed for 26 million pounds in the summer. The Spaniard received just 320 passes in the 13 starts he made under Villas-Boas, an average of just 24.6 per game. Against Stoke, Sherwood specifically asked his forwards to stretch their attack, with Soldado moving out to the right to connect with Aaron Lennon and Adebayor doing the same on the left to connect with Eriksen, with full backs on both wings creating overlaps when they can. Tottenham looked like a completely different side with both forward heavily involved. "The coach has told us to play more free," Eriksen said afterwards"We have seen that in the games he was been in charge of. He said it looked like we were a little bit afraid (before)."He said we shouldnt be afraid. He said we should just play and see that we are good. If we dare we have a really good team and really good chances."I think what you see now is how we should play." 2014 Since the turn of the New Year, Sherwood has stuck to his system and Eriksen has been the main reason for its success. At Old Trafford he was the outlet in his own half when Spurs countered, starting the move, sprinting into space on the right and providing a cross for Adebayor to head home. In the second half, for the second goal, Soldado came deep to help with Lennon, who sprinted on and found Eriksen, ahead of both strikers, drifting off the left flank to head home at the back post. On Saturday, at home to Crystal Palace, after a very poor first half from Spurs, Eriksen was the spark they need when he recognized a long cross field ball needed to be played by right back Kyle Naughton towards Adebayor, and the moment the ball came towards the striker, the Dane ran into the space created by his team-mate and smashed home the games first goal. His movement inside from the flank had confused another defence. Eriksen, like Spurs, had not been at his best that day but, at a time when it was needed, had the intelligence and skill required to make the difference. Despite the three points, the performance again raised eyebrows, specifically around Soldado, who was ineffective again despite having more creativity around him. Their remains a number of question marks over Tottenhams new system under Sherwood. Can whoever plays as the central midfield two do enough to cover the gaps in front of the centre backs and combine with the attack, specifically against teams better than Stoke and Crystal Palace? Will Eriksen still be influential in the role if left-sided Mousa Dembele isnt playing in midfield? How much more patience will Sherwood have with Soldado? And will Eriksen remain a left sided option even when others such as Nacer Chadli have come on to replace a striker, like he has in past matches. What should no longer be a question is Eriksens place in the team, no matter where he is asked to play. Sherwoods Tottenham will inevitably go through a difficult patch at some point during the second half of the season but what the versatile Danish star has shown in the last month is that he should be the first name written on the team sheet. Dont expect to see him benched for anyone again. This is a Premier League star in the making. MOBILE, Ala. Discount Hydro Flask . -- The Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars have been selected to coach the Senior Bowl, giving their staffs an up-close look at potential draft picks. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 in Mobile. Its the third time the Falcons have coached the Senior Bowl (1967, 1978) and the second time for the Jaguars (2009). The Falcons (4-12) will coach the North team. Coach Mike Smith says the week of practice "provides a great opportunity to get to know these players on a personal level." Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca. Hey Kerry, Im watching the Avalanche at Flames game on Thursday night. Ive noticed multiple times where one team will clearly win a faceoff, but the play is then blow dead only for the centreman who lost the draw to be tossed out. In most cases, the second puck drop is not won as cleanly as the first, which benefits the team that had the first faceoff infraction. My question is that if a faceoff is done unfairly but the team causing the infraction clearly looses the draw, why does the play have to be stopped and the draw have to be redone? In my thinking, if a team wins a draw cleanly even though the opponent cheated, why not let the clean win benefit the team that won the faceoff? Like Cmon Ref! Brett Moose Jaw, Sk ----- Brett, Before I answer your question, I want to do a quick recap of Thursdays column with some additional information I received that came in after the posting. I went back and forth yesterday with our TSN Libero expert technician, Andrew Fitzpatrick while he was tied up in studio on a football project. We updated the column once Andrew had the time to provide Libero calculations on the height that Jason Pominville contacted the puck with the shaft of his stick. Based on different replay angles he was provided, the system calculated the contact height between 42 to 46 - both of which are above the four foot height of the crossbar. Andrew admitted there is still some judgment required by the technician to calibrate the system, whereas if chips were placed in the pucks and sensors added in the rink if would provide very accurate data. Anyone remember the FoxTrax, the glowing puck that ranged in color depending upon the speed it travelled? If that puck-tracking data software from the mid-90s was reinstated, this would be a relatively easy problem to rectify. Not only could a high-stick of the puck be detected but also when the puck entered the net undetected. Pass the chips, please. Brett, I did a quick scan of the game and saw a couple of examples of the linesman bllowing the play down for a do-over, even though the cheating centre lost the draw. Hydro Flask Sale Clearance. As you correctly pointed out, the previous offending team won the second face-off attempt which might not seem fair. The linesmen do their very best to maintain a consistent standard as much as possible throughout a game. They arent looking for perfection but fairness. They apply common sense with good judgment to execute a fair face-off and keep the game moving. Every linesman recognizes the importance of end zone face-offs and none of them want to show up on the highlight reel for a poor drop that results in a goal. They are also judged on their face-offs for rating purposes. In the situations I witnessed, one player utilized a timed, hard swing of his stick while in the other draw, the centre made contact with his helmet on the opposing centre with a spin move. In these more aggressive cases, it was apparent to me that the linesman was not comfortable allowing play to continue but instead chose to maintain an acceptable standard by letting the offending player know his actions were not acceptable. Your point is well taken, Brett. Generally speaking, common sense should be applied to allow play to continue when the non-offending team gains possession of the puck off a face-off. Most of the linesmen I worked with throughout my career, and those I still remain in contact with, attempt to do as you suggest wherever possible. There is perhaps even some value to allowing play to continue and then advising the offending centre at the first opportunity that if he didnt try to cheat, he just might have won the draw. At the very least, the player should be informed that any recurrence would not be tolerated. I remember veteran linesmen telling me that Jean Beliveau and Stan Mikita were two of the most cooperative centres they ever dealt with. MIAMI -- Brad Hand earned his first victory as a starter since 2011 when he outpitched Tim Lincecum by a margin of one curveball. Cheap Jordan 12 For Sale . Lincecum bounced a curve for a wild pitch that scored a runner from third in the seventh inning, putting the Miami Marlins ahead to stay Sunday as they snapped a six-game losing streak by beating the San Francisco Giants 3-2. "Its a very tough way to lose a ballgame," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "Timmy threw great." NL hits leader Casey McGehee homered for the second time this season to help Miami avert a three-game series sweep. Hand (1-2) gave the Marlins shaky rotation a welcome boost by pitching seven innings to match a career high, and he allowed two runs. The left-hander had been 1-12 previously as a starter. "He got a little squirrelly a couple of times but was able to get it back," manager Mike Redmond said. "Thats what were looking for. Its all about consistency. We want this guy to be in our rotation. We feel he has the stuff. It comes down to him going out and doing it." Hand allowed six hits and one walk. He has a 3.22 ERA in four starts since rejoining the rotation. "I was just trying to go out there and get deep into the game," he said. "Ill try to build on this one and go out there in five days and do it again." Steve Cishek pitched a perfect ninth for his 21st save in 24 chances. Lincecum (9-6) allowed three runs in seven innings, ending his streak of wins in four consecutive starts. With the score 2-all, Adeiny Hechavarria doubled to start Miamis seventh, took third on a sacrifice and came home when Lincecum misfired a curve to Reid Johnson, and the ball caromed away from catcher Hector Sanchez. "I was just trying to get him to chase and be aggressive in that situation," Lincecum said. "I didnt do that, and the ball squirted away." McGehee came in with 118 hits and 54 RBIs, but the two-run homer in the first inning was his first since May 10. "Its a little weird," the Marlins cleanup hitter said. "I would have thought maybe I would have run into a couple more. But it doesnt bother me too much, and until the guys give me a hard time about it, I dont really think about it." McGehee had two hits to hike his average to .322. He also made a barehanded grab and throw at third base to rob Buster Posey of a hit in the eighth. The Giants offence, which has sputtered for much of July, suffered a relapse after three consecutive robust games. Their final 12 batters went down in order. Posey drove in their runs with a double in the third. Miami won with only six hits and despite a succession of basepath blunders. The Marlins had three runners tagged out between second and third in the first three innings. "What irritates me at times is it takes away from a nice win," Redmond said. "Were making mistakes we shouldnt make and just cant happen." NOTES: Giants 1B Brandon Belt will go on either the seven-day or 15-day DL because of a concussion, Bochy said. Marcus Semiens seventh-inning grand slam lifted the White Sox over the Detroit Tigers 6-4 Wednesday night. It was the first career grand slam for the 23-year-old Semien, and it turned a two-run deficit into a two-run lead. "Everybody I think is buying into catering your at-bat to the situation," Konerko said. "I think everybodys really done a good job of ... having an awareness of where things are at in the game, the scoreboard, what the guys trying to do to me." Konerko had three hits for the White Sox, including an eighth-inning double that moved him past Frank Thomas atop the teams career total bases list. Jose Abreu hit another long home run for the White Sox, but it was Semiens slam that turned around the game. Detroit starter Drew Smyly allowed two runs in six innings, but Evan Reed (0-1) gave up two singles and a walk, and Ian Krol allowed the home run to Semien on a 3-1 pitch. "Kind of sitting dead red," Semien said. "He missed a couple up on me, and one of them I check swung, but that one was a little lower, and just got extended." Andre Rienzo (1-0) gave up four runs in the fourth inning, but kept the Tigers quiet otherwise in his first start this season. He allowed five hits and two walks in 6 1-3 innings, striking out three. Matt Lindstrom pitched the ninth for his third save, but it wasnt easy. He allowed a single, a walk and two deep flyouts before retiring Alex Avila on a line drive to first with runners on second and third. Austin Jackson homered for Detroit. With the Tigers ahead 4-2 in the seventh, Reed allowed a leadoff single to Konerko. Alejandro De Aza singled one out later, then Reed walked Tyler Flowers and was pulled. Krol retired Jordan Danks on a popup, but Semien followed with a drive to left that cleared the bases. "I threw a 3-1 fastball up in the zone, which is pretty much the exact pitch guys want to see on 3-1," Krol said. "I thhought about throwing a changeup, but I didnt want to walk him. Jordan Retro 12 Clearance. As it turned out, walking him would have been a much better move." Abreu opened the scoring in the first with a two-run shot, reaching the bushes beyond the wall in centre field at Comerica Park for the second time this series. Smyly was impressive after that; he would end up yielding six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Rienzo gave up the lead in the fourth, allowing a two-run single to J.D. Martinez and Jacksons two-run homer to left-centre. But the Tigers had only one more runner against Rienzo after the homer. The 25-year-old right-hander from Brazil had pitched only one inning this season, but Rienzo got the start Wednesday with Chicago starters Chris Sale and Felipe Paulino both injured. The 38-year-old Konerko raised his average to .217 with his big day at the plate, and he now leads the White Sox with 3,950 total bases, one more than Thomas. "Any time you hear franchise lead or something like that, thats cool," Konerko said. "It shows I got out there and played. Youve got to do well, but more than anything, you have to be out on the field to do it, so Ive always took pride in that." With one on in the ninth, Martinez came within a few feet of tying the game, but his drive off Lindstrom was caught in front of the wall in centre near the 420-foot marker. After a walk to Jackson, both runners moved up on Nick Castellanos flyout to deep right. Avila then swung at a 3-0 pitch, and his liner was caught by Abreu, who was guarding the line at first. NOTES: The White Sox optioned LHP Charlie Leesman to Triple-A Charlotte after the game. Second baseman Gordon Beckham (strained left oblique) is expected to return from his rehab Thursday. ... Ahead of his bout with Robbie Lawler at UFC 167 in November, Rory MacDonald was forced to field yet another question about potentially fighting then-welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre. Nike Air Max 1 Clearance Canada . Despite almost exhausting all methods of saying no by this point, the B.C. native once again shot down the notion of facing his teammate. However, MacDonalds reluctance appeared to raise the ire of Tyron Woodley, who was preparing for a bout with Josh Koscheck. "Ive asked to fight tough guys because one day I want that belt Georges St-Pierre has in front of him," Woodley said at the UFC 167 pre-fight press conference. "Rorys like, I wont fight him. If he doesnt want to fight him, then he needs to get out of the way. Guys like me will fight him." Though the St-Pierre issue is now moot due to the Montreal fighter vacating the belt and taking a leave of absence, Woodleys words almost seem prophetic as he is set to face MacDonald in the co-main event of UFC 174 in Vancouver this Saturday. MacDonald admittedly isnt a fan of Woodleys tactics, but said he wasnt bothered by the former NCAA Division I wrestlers verbal potshot last fall. "I think it was his way of trying to put a stab at me, but also, maybe he doesnt want to fight me," MacDonald said during a phone interview with UFC.ca. "I think he knows in the back of his head that Im a dangerous fighter and he doesnt want to deal with me on the way to a title shot. But I dont really get too stressed about what people have to say. Im just focused on my own path, what I need to do and thats all. "Hes got his own thing and its got him to where he is. Everyones got to do their own thing. Im just focused on myself. I wouldnt go about it the way he does and the way he speaks sometimes, but it doesnt bother me. Its just the way he is." Regardless of Woodleys jab, MacDonalds focus remains locked on earning a shot at current welterweight titleholder Johny Hendricks. Though his bout with Woodley remains pivotal in the 170-pound division, the winner could be leapfrogged in the pecking order by the victor of Julys battle between Lawler and Matt Brown. As always, simply getting the job done wont be good enough. MacDonald knows he needs to make a statement against Woodley. "I want to have the greatest performance of my career so far," said MacDonald. "I want to be at my best every fight. I think doing that will get me where I want to be. If I just keep improving every fight, keep on impressing and growing as a martial artist, people will recognize that. "(Fans can expect) a technical and precise performance, but at the same time, exciting and dynamic." Stylistically, MacDonald and Woodley make for an exciting fight on paper — especially considering how much theyve both grown as fighters in recent years. Though MacDonald, 24, is eight years younger than Woodley, 32, he began competing in mixed martial arts in October 2005, four months before the St. Louis fighter made his respective debut. Woodley will always have his wrestling credentials to fall back on, but has recently emerged as one of the most dangerous strikers in the UFCs 170-pound division. Not only has he put his heavy hands to good use in wins over Koscheck and Jay Hieron, his ability to quickly cover distance is nothing short of breathtaking. His most recent outing saw him pick up a second-round TKO victory over Carlos Condit when the former interim welterweight champ suffered a knee injury due to Woodleys onslaught. MacDonald said he has the tools necessary to neutralize Woodleys strengths, but opted not to get into details. "Youll see that night," MacDonald said. "Im not going to tell you how I technically beat him, but Im confident in my solutions to those problems." As far as MacDonald is concerned, the real question is whether Woodley can handle what he brings to the table. "I try not to worry about my opponent," MacDonald began. "I have to perform in front of any kind of opponent. It really doesnt matter what style they are. I just feel I have the solutions to beat anybody in the welterweight division right now. "I think hes fought some good guys and well-rounded fighters, but I really feel like hes fighting the best on Saturday night. I dont think hes ready for it." Cheap Nike Air Max 1 . The 17-year-old had four goals and four assists in 38 games for Liberec in the Czech pro league this past season. Zacha had three goals and two assists in seven games at the world mens under-18 championship in April when the Czech Republic took the silver medal. But Zachas agent, Allan Walsh, said on Twitter that Zacha is under contract to a professional team in his home country and is not interested to playing in the OHL. Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos continued towards his potential return on Friday, taking part in practice drills with light contact. Cheap Real Jordan 12 . While the 23-year-olds progress had some teammates saying he was looking pretty good, Stamkos offered a more tempered approach to his return. "I dont feel where I need to be in order to play a game yet, but its getting there," he told reporters after practice at the Bell Centre in Montreal. "Its nice to hear that the guys are saying that. Today I was in the corners a little more and getting bumped around (but) by no means was it full contact." Stamkos fractured the tibia in his right leg in a Nov. 11 game against the Boston Bruins and underwent surgery the following day. He returned to practice earlier than expected, leading each days progress to be closely monitored by Lightning fans as well as Canadians. Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman named Stamkos to Canadas 25-man roster for the coming Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, but with Canadas first game just two weeks away, the clock is ticking on his hopes to be healthy in time. "You just have to listen to your body," Stamkos said. "Were talking a lot about the Olympics and my goal is to try to be ready for those Games, but your body doesnt lie. If youre doing certain movements and you feel pain then thats an indicator that maybe its not quite ready. "It is tough mentally as well, going in there knowing that youre a little hesitant in certain areas. Ive said that before that thats what you dont want so you just try to overcome that as you progress and you take more contact in practice and hopefully that goes away." Stamkos scored 14 goals and 23 points in 17 for the Lightning this season prior to his injury. However, opportunities to get into game action before the Olympics are dwindling for the sniper. The Lightning have four games remaining before the NHL goes on break for the Games with the teams final game coming Feb. 8 against the Detroit Red Wings. While the Brampton, Ontario native wouldnt commit to a timeline, he acknowledged his progress thus far and expressed hope for it to continue over the next two weeks. "It has gotten better," he said. "Theres less and less pain every time I get on the ice but there is still a little discomfort. "Im hoping in the next week and a half, two weeks, that that feels a lot better and I can do certain movements without having that pain or at least with some pain thats manageable. The arguments made on behalf of Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant football coach, include that his lawyers didnt have time to prepare for trial, that a prosecutor made improper references to Sandusky not testifying and that the judge mishandled jury instructions. The Superior Court judges did not indicate when they would rule. Sandusky, 69, is serving a 30- to 60-year state prison sentence after being convicted last year of 45 counts of child sexual abuse. He was not in the full courtroom for the argument session, held in a county courthouse in Wilkes-Barre as part of the courts initiative to make its business accessible to a wider public. Sandusky lawyer Norris Gelman told the appeals court that the trial judge should have addressed to jurors the length of time it took Sanduskys victims to report their abuse, in some cases more than a decade. "No one told the jury, Look, you have a 16-year delay here and that has an impact under the law," Gelman argued. "Were talking severe, aggravated delay." James Barker of the attorney generals office said jurors were fully informed about the delay issue, even if that did not take the form of a jury instruction. Barker said the defence made it clear that their theory was that there was delayed reporting, and that the victims were motivated by a desire to cash in based on false allegations. "All of the concepts that needed to be conveyed to this jury were cconveyed to them," Barker said. Cheap Jordan 12 Uk. "They knew exactly what was at issue." Gelman also argued that the case was rushed to trial, with a huge volume of material from prosecutors swamping the defence. But Barker said the material could be contained in two boxes, and the defence team was told that much of what they asked for was not relevant to the trial. "They ignored that. They wanted it, and so they wasted their time," Barker said. "Thats not our fault; its not the trial judges fault." Judge Jack Panella asked Gelman about a statement made after the trial by Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola. He said that months later, he had not found anything in the documents that would have changed his approach to trial. "Thats after the fact, thats long after the fact," Gelman said. "During the trial he was flying blind -- a bad way to try a case." Gelman argued that a prosecutors comments about an interview Sandusky did with NBC shortly after his 2011 arrest amounted to an improper reference to the fact that Sandusky did not take the stand in his own defence. Panella asked whether Sanduskys lawyers requested a curative instruction or mistrial as a result, raising questions about whether the issue was properly before the appeals court. Gelman said they did not, but said the mistake was "so egregious" that the judge should have acted on his own. Barker said Gelman, in court and in his brief, were taking the comments out of context, and that the proper context was limited to the interview itself, and how Sandusky struggled to respond to questions from NBCs Bob Costas. ARLINGTON, Texas - It took the Los Angeles Angels 4 1/2 months to catch the Oakland Athletics and move into first place in the American League West. Authentic Air Force 1 Australia . Albert Pujols and Howie Kendrick homered to give the Angels an early lead on the way to a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night. The Angels (72-49) are alone in first place in the AL West for the first time since 2011, but they are only two percentage points ahead the Athletics, who lost at Atlanta on Saturday. "We havent accomplished anything yet," Pujols said. "Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. When we accomplish our goal, then we can talk about it." With his team in fifth place, Rangers manager Ron Washington talked about the division race. "I think its going to come down to who continues to pitch well," he said. The Angels finished 78-84 and in third place during an injury-plagued 2013 season. "It definitely feels good to be on the track we hoped to be on last year," manager Mike Scioscia said. One reason for their improvement to the best record in the major leagues is a better bullpen. Huston Street worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 33rd save in 34 opportunities. It was the second straight night the Rangers rallied before losing 5-4. Los Angeles has won nine in a row over Texas, tying the series record set during the 1985 season and matched a year later. Street hasnt allowed a run in 12 games with the Angels since being acquired from San Diego on July 18. "Hes just a bona fide closer," Scioscia said. "He has created an opportunity for us to shorten the game by moving (Kevin) Jepsen up to the seventh inning, and Joe Smith up to the eighth." Angels starter Matt Shoemaker (11-4) pitched three perfect innings before Shin-Soo Choo led off the fourth with a home run, but by that time, the Angels led 5-0. Kendrick added two singles in a 3-for-4 night. Kole Calhoun had a single and a double for the Angels, and Erick Aybar had two singles. Pujols hit a solo homer in the first against starter Colby Lewis (8-10). Kendrick hit another solo shot in the second. Los Angeles Chris Iannetta doubled home another run in the second, and Calhoun singled to drive in two more in the fourth. Both hits, like Pujols homer, were with two out. TRAINERS ROOM Angels: Los Angeles activated RHP Mike Morin (left foot laceration) from the disabled list. He pitched an inning in relief. Rangers: Rios made his fourth consecutive start after aggravating a sprained right ankle on Aug. 10. RHP Yu Darvish (inflamed elbow) wont travel with the team to Miami on Monday, and will continue treatment in Arlington. UP NEXT The teams three-game series concludes on Sunday. Angels LHP Hector Santiago (3-7, 5.84) defeated the Rangers 15-6 on July 10 in Arlington. Texas RHP Nick Tepesch (4-7, 4.29) last faced the Angels on July 11, when he lost 3-0. SLUMPING Rangers 1B J.P. Arencibia had been 0-for-19 before his run-scoring single in the fourth. RF Alex Rios was 0-for-16 before his two-run single in the seventh. LF Jim Adduci went 0-for-4, and is in an 0-for-20 slide. Angels CF Mike Trout went 0 for 5, extending his skid to 0 for 15. HOT HOT HOT Calhoun stretched his hitting streak to a season-high seven games. In six of those games, he has had multiple hits. He is batting .441 (15-for-34) during the streak. Calhoun has five RBIs in the series first two games. Texas CF Leonys Martin is 10-for-20 (.500) in his last five games, including two singles on Saturday. SUPERLATIVES Lewis struck out 10 batters for the first time since June 17, 2012. The 10-year veterans career high is 12, posted May 10, 2012. Hall set up David Perrons goal with 3:20 to go in the second period that snapped a 2-2 tie and joined Jeff Petry and Nail Yakupov as the third-period goal scorers. SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Brazilian organizers are adding safety features where a worker died in the stadium hosting the World Cup opener, hoping to quickly reverse an order that halted construction in part of the venue. Cheap Air Jordan 1 Nz Online . The addition of new safety rails on Tuesday comes a day after labour officials said the installation of 20,000 temporary seats at the Itaquerao stadium could not continue until safety concerns were addressed. On Saturday, a 23-year-old worker died after falling from about 26 feet while installing the seats needed for the opener. Fast Engenharia, the company in charge of the temporary structures, was yet to release information about a new construction timetable for the stadium, which was already delayed. The company said in a statement that it was preparing a report to show labour officials that all the necessary measures had been implemented. It said the report would be delivered by the end of the day on Tuesday. The company, which reiterated that all of its safety measures were in accordance with Brazilian regulations, said that after the analysis of the report it expected construction to "resume immediately so it could deliver the work by the established deadline." Before the accident, FIFA expected the venue to be ready about a month ahead of the June 12 opening match between Brazil and Croatia. Sao Paulos vice mayor didnt expect the work stoppage to cause significant delays to the stadiums construction, saying the installation of the temporary seats was a "relatively simple job." "Its not a complex situation," Nadia Campeao told Radio Estadao. "Even if work is stopped for a few days so the recommended adjustments can be made, it shouldnt alter the final timetable." FIFA and the local World Cup organizing committee released a statement downplaying the delay caused by the work interruption, which they called "standard procedure when accidents of this nature occur." "FIFA and the LOC support any efforts to improve workers safety by the authorities," the statement said. "Given the advanced state of the assembling of the temporary stands, we believe that the schedule for delivery of these areas will not be impacted." A labour ministry official in Sao Paulo said the construction stoppage was needed to eliminate the risk of another death. "If there are no additional safety measures, the work cant continue," Luiz Antonio de Medeiros told the Agencia Estado news service. "There was not enough protection, it was irresponsible." Fast Engenharia has denied any wrongdoing and said the worker had all required safety equipment available to him at the time of the accident. Investigators said an initial probe showed the worker didnt connect himself to a safety cable. According to witness accounts, he said he only had a "quick thing" to finish at the site. Medeiros said additional safety measures could have prevented the death even if the worker wasnt connected to his safety cable. The safety rails were being added around areas where workers installed the temporary seats. FIFA and the local World Cup organizing committee did not immediately answer requests for comments on the work stoppage. Construction was already behind schedule at the Itaquerao stadium because of the damage caused by another accident that killed two workers following a crane collapse in late November. A giant roofing structure fell on part of the stadiums facade, significantly pushing back the stadiums date of completion. The stadium, being built by popular Brazilian club Corinthians, is expected to cost about $490 million. In addition to the opener, it will host three group matches, one second-round game and one of the semifinals. Jordan 1 Retro Sale Nz . Its like being on Broadway, everything you do matters. Founding members of the Genie Army, a group of Eugenie Bouchard supporters who cheered for the rising tennis star during the Australian Open in January, will be in the city for the Rogers Cup, beginning this weekend.WINNIPEG -- There was plenty of cheering from fans at MTS Centre on Sunday night, but most of it was aimed at the visiting team in Winnipegs 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. With Anaheim forward Teemu Selanne in the building, Jets fans voiced their appreciation for the man who began his NHL career with Winnipeg in 1992-93 by setting rookie records of 76 goals and 132 points. The crowd gave a roaring cheer during the singing of the American national anthem when the videotron showed the 43-year-old Finnish Flash. And Selanne received a standing ovation midway through the first period when the announcer at MTS Centre noted his storied career, which Selanne has said will end after this season. He stood up from the bench and acknowledged the cheering with a wave of his glove. "Some ways, you felt that I was on the home team," Selanne said with a laugh. After playing 231 games in a Jets uniform, Selanne was traded to Anaheim in February 1996 and didnt get to move with the Jets when they relocated to Phoenix and became the Coyotes at the end of that season. "I feel like even when I left, they have always been there after, too, so its a good feeling," he said. Selannes teammate Corey Perry was the on-ice hero for Anaheim when he capitalized on a Winnipeg mistake to score the winning goal. Jets defencemen Zach Bogosian had raced down the ice to grab a loose puck behind the net, but when he turned to clear it up the ice, he fanned on the shot and the puck went to Perry in front of the net. The Ducks winger quickly put a high shot above goalie Ondrej Pavelec at 14:29 to the groan of fans at MTS Centre. "If I didnt score that one, thered be something going on," Perry said. "I wouldnt tell you what would happen, but it wouldnt have been pretty. "It was a gift and those are the ones you have to capitalize on, especially right in front of the net with nobody around you." Goalie Viktor Fasth made 15 saves in a win that lifted Anaheims record to 2-1-0. Pavelec faced 33 shots for the Jets (2-1-0). Mathieu Perreault and Andrew Cogliano also scored for Anaheim, which concluded a season-opening, three-game road trip. Andrew Ladd had a pair of goals for Winnipeg and BBlake Wheeler assisted on both of them in his 375th NHL game. Authentic Jordans Shoes Wholesale. Captain Ladd wasnt blaming Bogosian for the loss. "We didnt deserve to win, regardless of that," Ladd said. "Really the only reason we were in the game still was (Pavelec). "Tough break. (Bogosian) slips and the puck ends up in the wrong area and in the net. Its not his fault at all. Its on everybody else in the room." Anaheim doesnt play in Winnipeg again this season unless the teams face each other in the playoffs. Jets coach Claude Noel was upset with his teams play, except for Pavelecs performance. "If you look at the way we played, we didnt deserve to win the game playing that way," Noel said. "We got saved by our goalie. And realistically, our goalie has saved us in all three games (this season). Hes been superb. Not average, superb." He added Bogosians error was a mistake that "sometimes happens." Even though the Jets were outshot 15-6 in the first period, they held a 2-1 lead on Ladds goals. First he deflected Wheelers wrist shot just 11 seconds into a power play to make it 1-0 at 9:06, but then Ducks centre Perreault tied it up a minute and 10 seconds later when he flipped in a loose puck despite Pavelecs best efforts to stop it. Ladd got the go-ahead marker at 16:17, catching Fasth out of position. After the puck bounced off the backboards, Fasth slid to the other side of his crease, but Ladd had quickly shot the puck into the open side. The Jets didnt get a shot on net until almost five minutes into the second period and couldnt capitalize on two power-play opportunities. Anaheim tied it up with four seconds left in the middle period when Cogliano redirected a Dave Winnik shot. The Jets didnt get their first shot on goal in the third period until almost seven minutes in, with Pavelec facing four shots in the same span. Notes: Winnipeg defenceman Tobias Enstrom has four assists in his first three games a Bogosian was playing in his 300th NHL game. He was drafted by Atlanta in the first round, third overall, in the 2008 entry draft ... The Ducks will mark the 20th anniversary of their inaugural NHL game on Oct. 8. They will celebrate at their home-opener on Oct. 10.
